RegExplorer v1.0.2 ReadMe

RegExplorer is a programmer's utility for quickly testing and
debugging regular expressions for use with REALbasic's RegEx class
(or similar regular expression engines). The unregistered version is
limited to a 3-minute session and won't let you save your history
files, but is otherwise fully functional.


CHANGES SINCE v1.0.1 ====================

o  Bug Fix - Fixed extraneous "unhandled exception" dialog after
quitting due to demo time limit expired.

o  Bug Fix - Fixed line endings in release notes when New Version
dialog box comes up.

o  Change - Moved version checking routine to a background thread to
improve startup time.



CHANGES SINCE v1.0.0 ====================

o  Bug Fix - Fixed crashing bug if you double-clicked on a cell in
the Match Results and then clicked the "OK" button in the Expanded
Edit window.

o  New - Added automatic version checking.  Will notify user when a
new version is available.  Can be turned off in Preferences.

o  New - Added Preferences so user can turn off automatic version
checking.

o  New - Improved error handling so that unexpected exceptions do
not force the entire application to exit.

o  Change - Removed Close button from main application window.


INSTALLATION ============

Mac OS X: Double-click the disk image (.dmg) file to mount the disk
image, and drag the RegExplorer folder into your Applications
folder.

Windows: Double-click the RegExplorerSetup.exe file and follow the
directions.


REGISTRATION =============

The registration fee for RegExplorer is US$12, payable via Kagi. To
register RegExplorer, select the Register menu item under the Apple
menu (OS X) or Help menu (Windows). Fill in your name, email
address, and company name (or "Personal" if you don't have a company
name), and then click the Register button. You will be taken to the
Kagi order website to fill in your credit card information.  Kagi
also takes checks, if you don't mind waiting a few weeks.

Privacy info:  I don't do spam.  I hate spam.  I won't even email
you when the next version of RegExplorer comes out--you'll have to
keep an eye on VersionTracker.com or one of the REALbasic mailing
lists to find out.  I will keep track of your registration so that I
can replace your registration key if you lose it, but I will not use
or distribute your email address for any marketing purpose
whatsoever.  Period.

If you have any problems with RegExplorer, please let me know by
sending email to support@bucktailsoftware.com.  If you are a
registered user, I will try to send you a bug fix as soon as
possible, but whether you're a registered user or not, I'll get bug
fixes up on my web site as soon as I reasonably can.  It's in my own
best interests to publish good software, after all.  Other questions
and comments I will respond to as time permits, giving priority to
registered users, of course.  But registered or not, I'm always glad
to hear from my users!
